Martha’s parents were Hezekiah and Sarah Cathrine Holcomb. Sarah was born around 1815 and Hezekiah was born around 1808. Both were from Bath County , Virginia. Hezekiah’s father was Timothy Holcomb born 25 Feb. 1756 in Simsbury Hartford County , CT . He married Elizabeth Griffin . He came here from Bath County and settled for awhile on Laurel Creek in what is now ,Webster County . Timothy served in the Revolutionary War and settled in Granby , Hartford County , Connecticut while his sons Hezekiah and Samuel remained on Laurel Creek at what is now Webster County , West Virginia .
